MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT – JULY 2008
Dear Residents,
This is my final chance to remind you about the Annual Knoch Knolls July 4th Parade. We will assemble at 1:15 p.m. in the Spring Brook School circle drive. The parade route will be the same as in the prior years...Right out of Spring Brook to Seiler, then right turn down Gateshead to Haddassah and end at a reception at the Knoch Knolls Commons at the intersection of Du Pahze and Haddassah Drive. The Parade is scheduled to start promptly at 1:30 p.m. Please note the time change from previously posted times.
We are very proud of the two distinguished Grand Marshals for our parade:Purple Heart Gulf War Hero, Zach Arnold, and courageous young Evan Garrett, whose story has been well chronicled. We are also honored to be hosting Mayor George Pradel and a lineup of Veterans from The American Legion and Judd Kendall VFW. A squad of fire fighters will lead the parade in a bright red fire truck.Since the parade time had to be moved back for reasons outside our control, we are adding a new concept. Prior to the parade, at 12:00 noon, we will set up a moon jump and slide at the reception area, Knoch Knolls Commons. In addition, we will have the convertibles available for kids to decorate and a random drawing among the kids to pick junior grand marshals to ride with the Mayor or one of the distinguished guests in a convertible.
After the parade, your family is invited to enjoy refreshments, the moon jumps and explore the fire truck and meet the firemen. Please RSVP to Julie Berkowicz at jberkowicz@wideopenwest.com, so that we may be able to plan accordingly for the refreshments. If you can bring a snack to share or prizes to donate, please let her know.
Two final notes. First, do not forget the Rock and Roll Block Party which drew 100% positive reviews last year. We expect to have multiple bands perform in the retention area on Knoch Knolls Road near the Seiler entrance. That event is set for Saturday, August 16th. Second, please mow your lawn at least once every week or ten days. For some reason, we are getting an increase in complaints about lawn maintenance.
If you have any comments, please email me at jameshlawlor@gmail.com.
Sincerely, Jim Lawlor
